Josh McCall (Ben Foster) has it all: a loving wife (Cobie Smulders), a cute son (Will Kosovic), a job that pays well and his dream home. However, when he discovers a dangerous stretch of road near his new house, he becomes obsessed with saving the lives of car accident victims, an obsession that could cost him everything. Buxton's film of a family man's curious descent into madness is unmissable for both its technical excellence (production designer Jennifer Stewart, DOP Guy Godfree, composer Stephen McKeown) and Foster's deeply unsettling performance. This is a story that revels in its ambiguities.
