Irish Film 
Curators

Summer 2024 | online & the Light House Cinema

An expert-led training programme for young and emerging curators from diverse social and cultural backgrounds. The course covers programming, rights negotiation, promotion, presentation and evaluation. This new initiative is designed to diversity the curatorial landscape in film exhibition and kickstart new careers.

One-on-one advisory meetings with our Festival Director Gráinne Humphreys to counsel filmmakers about next steps for their completed films, how to develop a festival strategy, and how to position new titles for the Irish and International markets.

2024 – 2026 | sessions across the year

A 3-year programme designed to engage, inspire, and equip 15 – 24 year olds with the skills and appetite to seek out and harnesses opportunities across the screen, cinema, and filmmaking sectors. The initiative is designed to reach underserved communities and address a lack of diversity in the sector.

Across the year | various residential homes & care settings

Championed by Oscar winner Brenda Fricker (Home Alone, My Left Foot), this is the festival’s dedicated outreach programme for people in care settings - bringing the magic of the big screen to those who would otherwise be unable to enjoy it.
